Re: Lack of Updates

Yeah! There's been an embarrassing lack of activity from me on this. I stopped working on it. Let's just say now, no more promises from me as I now sit back and just think about things a little and then make some new decisions.

Re: Lack of Updates

I feel like a real bum-ass here making another excuse here but I'll be another week behind. I had something big happen and it's gonna occupy me until the end of next week. After that, unless someone else dies, I'll be back on track and updating shit after that, I swear! It also feels weird to keep u...

Re: Passings

Anyone that's been on the forum for a long time likely remembers that we had a constant 'troll' for a while - a guy by the name of 'Rob' that just kept signing up again and again and making trouble. Nothing that serious though. But it was constant for a while and he was a real nuisance. But anyway, ...

Re: Lack of Updates

About a day after my last post, my computer died and I had to get the HDD replaced. I didn't lose anything, so that's good, but I want to hold off on my forum update plans for the moment while I get things in order. I will post another update next Sunday.

Re: Lack of Updates

I've just now updated the forum to the current version of phpBB and re-opened the user registration. Before the end of the month, I'll aim to have the forum re-designed and then decide where to go from there with the rest of the site. The forum isn't a month-long job, I'll just be taking that long b...

Re: Lack of Updates

I ended up renewing it for another year. I explained the situation to my web host (that I hadn't updated in a long time, that I've lost interest, etc) and they gave me a big discount for this year's renewal, to where I didn't really need to think about the cost of renewing. The normal cost wasn't a ...

Re: Lack of Updates

The usage has gone down but I think most of that is my fault. Every so often the forum needs to be updated because spambots change and are able to overcome the anti-spam measures. And a lot of the time when that happened I just closed registration because updating the forum can be troublesome. It wa...

Re: Lack of Updates

Yeah. The site is paid for until November. If baal wants to, he can. It's all just about whoever wants to pay the host costs and run a site. Also, if anyone is thinking of what it would take to run, I don't think it needs to be as complicated as I made it. It could be set up so it doesn't require mu...

Re: Lack of Updates

A long time has passed. I saw this post soon after it was posted but I didn't reply because I was working on a site update at the time. And I thought it'd all work out better if I didn't say anything about this. I didn't want to make pledges and create expectations. Anyhow, it's a year and half late...

Re: The Trap

With a recent forum update, the last month of posts (not many) weren't included. I'm still able to see access these posts myself though (through a junky copy of the forum that I couldn't get to work properly) and so I'm quoting/re-posting the the HK ones so they're not lost. On Setepmber 11, baal po...

Forum Updated / Registration Open

The forum has been updated to the latest version. The site's host changed some things and the forum as it was before, very out of date, no longer worked. About one month's worth of posts were lost but it was very little - about five posts. I've re-posted some of the HK ones. There's some problem wit...

Missing Korine Interviews - Can You Think of Any?

There's a lot of Korine interviews missing from the site simply because I haven't added them, I'm not talking about those. I'm talking about interviews people have heard of but have never been able to find anywhere or which have not turned up. Like we know a certain magazine has an article but for w...

Re: Various Korine Mentions

Just a minor mention, in The Comics Journal #233 (May 2001) there's a long interview with Daniel Clowes, where at one point they're talking about his story/character David Boring:: Interviewer: He Kind of looks like Harmony Korine crossed with Jimmy Stewart. Clowes: [Pause. Laughs.] He does look lik...

Yeah, it turns out it'll be premiering a couple of days earlier there. Here are the details:
