i saw tenacious d and didn't like it at all. and i'm a fan of the shorts. i think they got too caught up in the idea of it as "a movie" and threw in too many cameo's with funny wigs and things like that. amy poehler was funny though, for her two minutes of screen time. i am going to see 'the founta...

I watched the Strangers with Candy movie a few days ago. I had heard it was bad but could not have imagined it would be as bad as it was, it's almost unwatchable, just complete shit. I like the show a whole lot and still I find little appeal in this movie, I can't say anything good about it. Yea, i...

Good external dvd burner?

I'm looking for a external dvd burner i can both rip/burn with. it needs to be able to hook up to a dell inspiron laptop (either thru a usb/firewire im guessing?). Right now I'm more concerned with just copying dvd's than authoring them. I don't think I'm ready for that yet, tho I definitely want to...

John Cazale went out swinging. Of all the films he made, I personally don't think he was involved in anything less than a masterpiece. I agree and as a funny bit of trivia that I have to credit toadlift for finding, all 5 feature films he starred in were nominated for best picture in the oscars, an...

21 Up in America - Saw it at a local film festival just today by more than one stroke of good luck. Pretty much one of the best movies I've ever seen. Every bit as great as the British series, if you ask me. If anyone has (or would be interested in helping me find) a copy of it and/or "Age 7 in Ame...

Superman Return, that was okay too and not bad like I expected. I must be the only one who wasn't that into it. I think it had 3-4 really good scenes that did feel very "timeless" like Ronsauce was talking about. I definitely liked that baseball field scene that was mentioned. And his return home t...
