Re: Gummo references in various films

It says how Halloween Night references. I think the Spider Man one is referring to when he is feeling up Mary Jane and discovers she has cancer.

Re: Favourite Films,

Dali codirected Un chien andalou, but I don't think one should label him a favorite filmmaker based on one short film done with Bunuel, especially when said short film is hit and miss.

As for Stephen King, I think you're forgetting Maximum Overdrive.

John Cage, idk.

Re: Mister Lonely

I thought it because both were killing diseased animals with shotguns but the main reason was what some of the shooters were wearing. In my memory, the Stooges were in all rubber like the Hud shot pictured below but I just pulled up Mister Lonely and they're actually wearing cloth. Still kinda close...

I haven't seen any effect and in fact, there are more engineering jobs than ever before to new graduates, so that's good for me.

The Blind Boys of Alabama are in Birmingham this Saturday. Charlie Louvin is at the Alabama Pecan Festival in Mobile the next Saturday. Going to both.

Re: Upcoming Cinema Events in Your Area

Please don't post Belcourt news until gas falls below $2.

Of course it doesn't beat a free film screening, but there are shoddy bootlegs of Fear and Desire available:

Re: Mister Lonely

I'm watching Hud right now and there's a scene where cows have to be put to sleep that I find very similar to the sheep in Mister Lonely. Is this acknowledged?

Re: film books

I got this Billy Wilder book in from Amazon yesterday for $6 total. It's rather massive at close to 600 pages plus another 100 pages of notes, references and index. Haven't read any yet but it's rated highly. http://www.amazon.com/Sunset-Boulevard-Times-Billy-Wilder/dp/0786885033/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&...
