What does he tell on the audio commentaries on the DVDs in the US-Edition?
I got the German kinski dvd box and others- he talks there with laurens straub about his films.

main theme: OH, I'M SUCH A "DIFFERENT" FILMMAKER
- how hollywood would do this and do that blablabla...
I miss a critical reflection of his work - no self-critism of him at all !
- blablabla, you could never learn that what i filmed on a film school...

In many German eyes (especially in the klaus kinski fan community) he is seen as an exagerating liar...

by the way - in his midlife-crisis 1987 he got divorced and now he is married with a 28 years younger russian chick... seems that he is not SO DIFFERENT from all the others

Herzog's going to be on The Simpsons next season

Following the clips, the creators revealed some of the upcoming guest voices: "Flight of the Conchords" stars Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement, Mark Zuckerberg (founder of Facebook), John Hamm ("Mad Men"), Nick Park (producer of the Wallace and Gromit movies and "Chicken Run"), legendary film director Werner Herzog, "Harry Potter" star Daniel Radcliffe and the reunion of Cheech and Chong.

On that note, you will also sort of see me, and hear me in this new season of The Simpsons. That is my upper thesis in popular American culture. I play a guest role on that cartoon, which will come out in February or March.

He also talks about My Son, My Son and his upcoming films. There's some Korine talk too.

thank you for this interview.

it makes me really sad to read that bruno s died. a few years ago i found pictures of him in the streets of berlin, and it seems he was still going around playing his music on the streets. i never met or encountered him, but he was one of the greatest .

It is very sad. It's good to know that Herzog still kept in touch with him and met up with him earlier this year because it almost felt like he abandoned him.

There's a great recap of a recent Herzog masterclass full of his pearls of wisdom here:

Herzog's going to be on The Simpsons next season

Has anyone seen the episode of The Boondocks with Werner Herzog as himself. I posted a topic about it back when it came out earlier this year. But AdultSwim.com (cartoon network) took it off their site. Heres the new link for the full episode:

A German documentary follows the election of Barack Obama with the Freeman family and it takes place during the months leading up to his election, the months before his inauguration, and the present day where he is president. Riley and Granddad are in full support of Obama, but Huey is indifferent. However, the Freeman family may view Obama differently from past to present.-----comewatchmenow.com

Awesome, thanks a million for that. Yeah I remember you posted about it before but the video was blocked for me or something. Then I forgot about it so this is great. Never seen the show before but I'm watching this episode now.
