Yep, love The Germs and agree with you mostly. I didn't realize there were other movies about The Germs? I'll have to check em out.

Alaric wrote:What We Do Is Secret - Misbegotten. As a big Germs fan, this movie pretty much just hit all the points i knew already and didnt illuminate anything. I cant see a non-fan really being pulled into the Germs by this film, as it really doesnt illustrate how important they were or make a claim that supports Darby's personal magnetism. I'd recommend LEXICON DEVIL, the Feral House oral history of the Germs that came out if you want to know more about em. i saw the reconstituted germs with shane west singing back in 2006 or 7 and it was a lot of fun, for a purely nostalgic exercise

I'm watching this tonight.

War Is Menstrual Envy - first full-length Zedd flick i've seen. not really as good as i expected it to be. pretty boring, except for the end. but even that, given how far he wanted to push things, seemed kind of tame. maybe if he had shown the burn victims wang. either way i liked that part. the rest was kind of whatever.

Begotten - i like this. has really cool sound design. it's pretty fucking creepy.

Brain Damage - this was fucking trippy. haw had i never heard of this before? it's awesome.

Sans Soleil - i can't seem to finish this. i've tried watching it like four times. i really love the imagery, but the narration just kind of loses me in the first five minutes.

I really like all of the other Marker stuff I've seen, and I love his style. I'm almost positive that it's the narration. I'm not sure if it's because i'm too high to follow it or if it's just the way it's presented, but i can't stay interested in what the woman is saying.

King of New York- the more Abel Ferrara films I see, the more I think that he just got lucky with Bad Lieutenant. I consider it a masterpiece, and none of the other films I've seen by him even come close. I've heard Driller Killer is good? I'll check that one out and if it's not good, I give up on that dude. I remember Vincent Gallo saying that he was always high on crack during the filming of The Funeral, so maybe this first hand experience is why Bad Lieutenant came out so well?

Never Let Me Go- I made it like forty minutes into this then I realized that I had quit paying attention after the first ten minutes and took it out.

The Kids Are All Right- The exact same as the last movie. ten minutes and i took it out.

Sion Sono is the man... have you seen COLD FISH? I think it's even better than LE, which I was really down with for the first 90 minutes or so but thought a lot of it was pretty tedious. Still impressive though... Fool's had a crazy life. The last shot is hilarious.

Also, if you want to check out more Jodorowsky-esque asian cuisine, I strongly recommend THE BOXER'S OMEN... this psychedelic supernatural kung fu movie the Shaw Bros produced back in '83.

Cold FIsh is brilliant, but Love Exposure is so much better imo. Such a great mesh of styles.

And holy shit supernatural kung fu shaw brothers flick? I love kung fu movies I gotta see this.

Into The Abyss - I'm surprised to say this, but this might be Werner Herzog's best documentary. Possibly his most moving and emotional. I was in tears. Please see it when you can.

Just saw 4:44 Last Day On Earth. It was alright, I haven't seen any of Ferrara's recent work so I wasn't sure what to expect but it's decent albeit melodramatic plus there's a great performance from Dafoe.

A Dangerous Method was pure Cronenberg in every facet of lensing the mind/body conflict.
