If anyone's in Sydney, R. Crumb, Jim Woodring and a few others will be at the Graphic festival at the end of next month, the details for which you can see here:

http://graphic.sydneyoperahouse.com/

From what I can see so far, it looks like Crumb wont be appearing anywhere else around the country (maybe something will be announced later though) but Woodring will be, he'll be at the Melbourne Writer's Festival for two speaking events and another event where he draws in response to a live band. This will also be at the end of August.

Crispin Glover's What Is It? / Big Slide Show @ Nitehawk Cinema NYC 9/4/11

What Is It?
Crispin Glover will personally present this feature film, the first of a planned trilogy. It is a shocking and provocative amalgam of nonsensical, surreal imagery telling a story about death and mayhem and a misunderstood genius.

Jane Ganahl in the San Francisco Examiner writes, "Scenes with naked women in elephant masks, Shirley Temple, Glover being lowered deus-ex-machina style into a Maxfield Parrish scene...It's like Fellini on psychedelics -- wildly creative but completely twisted."

Also as a part of the evening's entertainment Mr. Glover will perform Crispin Hellion Glover's Big Slide Show, a one hour dramatic narration of eight different profusely illustrated books he has made over the years.

Mr. Glover will do a Q and A and sign copies of his book What It Is and How It is Done.

On Sunday September 4 at 8pm. You also must see Crispin Glover and his film It Is Fine! Everything Is Fine

That festival looks cool, all those Dante and Rudolph movies. Good choice on the stunning House of Tolerance. I'd suggest seeing Margaret and Tabu.

Barbara is showing in Sydney as well. Thanks for reminding me to see it.

Yea, they are guests at the festival too, also Bela Tarr and some others. Lonergan is great but i'll skip it because Rudolph is present at The Long Goodbye Screening. I'll check Tabu, cheers.
