NEXT FILM

Harmony Korine has finished the screenplay for his third film and is now casting and scouting locations. This news comes from a number of people who have written and various reports around. The film will be produced by O’Salvation.

VARIOUS WORKS ON DVD

O’Salvation, the production company of Korine and agn├Ęs b, have plans to release a DVD of Korine’s unreleased video and art projects, including The Devil, The Sinner and His Journey, Fight Harm material, an unreleased Daniel Johnston music music video, “minstrel performances,” three Letterman appearances, “grannie tortures,” The Diary of Anne Frank Pt II and more. The DVD is expected to be released within one year.

MUSIC VIDEO AND PICTURES

The Royal Stable says the CD single for Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy’s No More Workhorse Blues, due out sometime this Fall, will include the music video directed by Korine. A new picture of Korine in blackface for Korine Tap has been added to the site here.

ARTICLES

Three new articles have been added to the site – Bossom Buddies (Vice, 2003), Hitting Harmony (Post Road, 2003) and Guilty Pleasures (Film Comment, 00). Eight Larry Clark articles have been added – the most notable of these is his 1995 interview with Paul Schrader for ArtForum(Babes In The Hood). A quote from Korine is included in the biography for Ulver at metalstorm.ee (“There’s a real lineage from a composer like Wagner to a band like Ulver”).

In a recent magazine feature Korine and others were given the following questionaire:

THE SUNDAY TIMES

There is an interview with Korine for The Sunday Times here. In a recent interview with Asia Argento, which can read in full here, there is a brief mention of Korine, with Argento saying, “I try not to read the reviews, but I can’t help it. My friend Harmony made fun of me, saying, ‘You’re still reading that stuff? You’re still getting hurt? You have to build your muscles.'”

UNTIL THE LIGHT TAKES US

The unreleased film Until The Light Takes Us, a documentary on Norway’s black metal scene, has seen the involvement of Korine. His role in the project is not known to us at this time. “My Way or Norway”, an article from the San Francisco Chronicle in 2002, talks to creators Audrey Ewell and Aaron Aites and tells more of the project.

NO MORE WORKHORSE BLUES

Korine has directed a video for the Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy song No More Workhorse Blues from the album Greatest Palace Music. The “Mrs. Cottonball” photos, which were added on the site several months ago, are from the new video, which should be available soon.

LAST DAYS

Korine is set to appear in Gus Van Sant’s Last Days, scheduled for a release in early 2005. Currently in post-production, the film stars Michael Pitt as a musician whose life and career is reminiscent of Kurt Cobain’s. Asia Argento, Lukas Haas and Kim Gordon are also in the film, which finished shooting in New York recently. Last Days, like Elephant before it, is being produced by HBO and Danny Wolf. The film will also use cameraman Harris Savides again.
